This policy explains what information the Blocky Football app ("the app", "we") uses and why. It covers the app on iPhone, iPad and Android, and this website.
Information we collect
We don't ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or location, and we don't run our own servers that store information about you. You can call your team anything you like. That name is only stored on your device.
Information saved on your device
To make the game work, the app saves the following in its own storage on your phone or tablet:
- your settings (difficulty, match length, sound)
- your team name and kit colours
- your progress in the Tournament, Cup and League
- match statistics: results, scores and cups and leagues won
- a random install ID, created the first time the app opens, used to tell your device apart from an opponent's in 2-player games
- whether you've bought "Remove ads"
This information is never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
2-player games over Wi-Fi (2P LAN)
When you host or join a 2P LAN match, the two devices talk directly over your local Wi-Fi network. They exchange the game itself plus your team name, kit colours and install ID, so each phone can show its opponent. Nothing is sent over the internet. On iPhone and iPad, iOS asks for permission to use the local network first.
Advertising
The free version of the app may show ads served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect information from your device, such as your IP address, device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, ad interactions and, on Android, the advertising ID. Google uses this information under its own privacy policy. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- In the UK, the European Economic Area and other places where the law requires it, the app shows Google's consent form before any ads load, so you can choose how your data is used.
- On iPhone and iPad, the app doesn't ask for permission to track you, so your device's advertising identifier is not shared.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
- Buying "Remove ads" turns off all ads in the app.
In-app purchases
The one-time "Remove ads" purchase is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. The app only learns whether the purchase was made, and it remembers this on your device so ads stay off.
Children
We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app works without any personal details, and the only information it shares is described above.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking. Its fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
If the app's use of information changes, we'll update this policy and the date at the top.
